At what temp does the inst panel "check gauges" light?

At what temp is the inst panel "check gauges" light triggered? Don't know if this would be better here or in the external engine section.
At the track, the temp gauge was rather high but not in the red zone. The red "check gauges" light came on and I switched on the heater. It lowered the temp. At what temp is the '02 TA computer programed to turn on the red IP "check gauges" light?
There must be a set(able) point in the computer parameters.

do you have the air damn removed? Car should never get that hot if everything's working right... check the coolant to make sure you're not low...
I'm not sure of what temp the light comes on... but basically 99+ cars... the temp gauge reads cold, operating temp, and you're too damn hot... if it's getting hot enough for the check gauges light to come on I'd start looking for the cause... cause a car that's operating as it should should never get that warm...

You'd think the high speed fans would keep this from
happening but maybe they come on too late? Have you
programmed the fan settings to be more sane (like, not
waiting until 226F to come on)? I guess if you ramp up
power really abruptly you could make steam pockets in
the heads before the temp sender even notices, if you
are sitting there cooking at 220F and then punch it.
