Default Question about the obd2 test

What does "not ready" mean? My buddy scanned my car and he said it isnt throwing any codes after the tune. So does that mean its ready? I believe the codes the tuner tuned out were cats, egr, air, 02s. Thanks - Mike

Not ready on a tech 2 or global scan tool means that test hasn't ran yet. Those certain monitors need to meet certain criteria to run and not ready means it hasn't met those criteria. If thats what you are talking about.

Okay so I guess my question is since it was tuned and then scaned showing no codes does that mean it will pass? Does the scanner show thats its ready?

I went through the same thing two weeks ago. Here is the thread.
Basically, your tuner didn't do his job correctly.

Well I didnt bring my car to inspection yet. The tuner said he tuned out the codes and that he scanned the car and said its ready. How could he tell its ready just by using a scanner?

The guy that fixed mine had a HPTuner laptop. After he hooked it up to my car, he went right to the area in the computer that shows the OBDII readiness system and there were two or three areas showing RED. He told me no matter how many times I may have tried the drive cyle, it would have never been ready. Less than five minutes after that, he fixed it. Take it back to your tuner or find another one with more experience.
