You need a scan tool to initiate the CASE (Crank Angle Sensor Error) learn procedure.

There must be no DTCs set.
The the engine should be at operating temperature.
The tansmission in park/neutral
The handbrake firmly applied.
Keep you foot on the brake as a safety precaution.

Once the scan tool has instructed the PCM to start learning do the following:

Press the accelerator pedal until the rpms rise over 4500rpm, the PCM will cut fuel to the injectors for about 1/2 second.
When you detect the "stumble" release the accelerator pedal immediately.
Wait for the engine to reach idle speed again.
Turn off igintion for 10-15 seconds to allow the PCM to "save" the learned information.
That's it.

I only know of two scan tools that can initiate the CASE learn procedure: Tech2 and EFILive. There may be others, you would need to check which ones do and which ones don't.

Paul

The full EFILive instructions can be seen if you click the "More info" button in the CKP relearn window.

If you have V6 make sure you have 6.2.0 or newer.

I got bit by this last week when I was scratching my head trying to figure out why nothing happened when I reved it up.
