Lightbulb ls1 to lq4 swap, can stock tune handle it?

Hello guys, replacing a blown ls1 with a 6.0 longblock. Stock lq4 cam, stock 317 heads are staying on it till I decide what direction this car will take on NA or FI. Swapping all acessories, ls6 intake, fuel rail, and injectors over(01-02 28lb/hr). As well as UD pulley, and ARH 1 7/8 headers. My only concern is the tune. We have 2 options and just want it to run safely for a few weeks till I can get a tune done on the car.

-One PCM is bone stock tune from an 02 parts car.

-Second one was from the 01 project car, was tuned speed density with lid and pacesetters.

My instinct is to use the stock pcm so the car can compensate and learn, I feel like the one on speed density is a bad idea.

Last question is what gas to run till its tuned? LQ4 is setup for 87, but pcm is set up for 93 on either?

Should be able to. I ran my brothers tune from his 224 cam setup on my lq4 with an ls6 cam and it worked great

Short answer...No....IMHO. It might run, but certainly not safely without a tune.

Also just to add Im talking about Idle and normal driving, no hard throttle. Not my DD either, talking about getting it home from garage 8 miles and then next time out driving to a tuner.

Great to hear, second personal account Ive heard that wasnt a problem. The other was a stock PCM on a bolt on lq4 like im doing.

Then yeah....fuel trims will probably be all over the place, but should work. Like you said....Idle and easy driving, no WOT runs.

No way. It might run okay but you need a tune for sure.

I think it would run fine for the short distances you plan on driving it. Like the rest said, no WOT
