Default speed density..

At what point are you guys going to speed density HP wise? At what point does it become better than having a MAF?

I would say with just bolt ons I would stay closed loop.

I wouldn't say it is strictly a horsepower point... Forced induction, I would go 2/3 Bar speed density right away. Some large cams get a lot of intake tract reversion and are better off in SD... Stock MAF will support up to around 450 at the wheels...

It's not so much an hp limit, it's more of a choice really.

When running big turbo/progracher setups yes it's better to go SD...but besides that it's all up to the user. One is not better than the other, both can be made to work well.

On a sidenote, I went SD purely out of preference and ease of tuning with just bolt-ons.

Cool, thanks guys. Im putting 455 at the rear wheels right now. I was told buy the tuner that the intake (Ls6) was restricting it at high RPM's. Im looking at a victor setup with a 85mm or so TB and was debating on going speed density or staying MAF
