Default How long between trys on VATS?

I've got a 93 T/A with the key switch broken out of it. I bought a potentiometer to try to disable the VATS with but I still can't get it to crank. I don't have the key to read the ohms for the car with so the potentiometer and guessing is the only way I know to try to get the car to start. I went through all 15 (?) values and it never turned over. Is there a time between trys that it'll lock you out if it detects the wrong value. Also if anyone has any other ideas on how I can make this thing start I'm all ears. Thanks

I don't remember exactly, but I always tell myself it can take anywhere between 5-15 minutes after a failed check before it will clear the "lock out".

I always think that its the same length as the vehicle's retained accessory power length. Be this accurate 100% or not its always worked for me. GL.
