Default Loaded Predator/power loss?

Made a few runs after loading the performance tune and tuning my trans.
Car was about 2-4 mph slower than my 2003 best on the same bald tires.
On the street the car seems to be making power but at the track that night was a different story. I was real dissapointed with 13.02@107.7 2.01 60'.

A buddy will let me log this week with EFIlive to see where I'm at and
maybe make some adjustments with my Predator.
What info should I look closely at and what types of settings should
I make them too. This is new to me. I understand that making adjustment to the engine managements is risky without logging first.
All input is appreciated.
thanks Larry

Hey man I had a simmliar exp. I loaded the Predator tune and was impressed on how I could make the Trany shift harder (makes you think the car is running stronger) and get me a little more Rpm's. But when I ran it at the track ET'S were worse than stock PCM settings and on top of all that the Predator now tells me that it has errors and I can't use it.

I just sent it back to diablo motor sports with a list of all my mods to try to get them to tune it to my car.

If I had it to do all over again I would defenetly get HP tuners for the little difference in price. Man I hate when this happens!!!!!!

I will post results as sone as I here from them or get the Predator back and see if I paid $400.00 plus just to get a little harder shifting tranny and a little more Rpm's......

Hopefully the folks at Diablo will stand by thier product and you'll have some luck with a custom program. I plan to go back to a stock maf as soon as I can. I have a 2700 stall T/C now so my tranny doesn't seem to shift as hard as it used to but I think the maf is complicating things as it won't shift when it's supposed to into 3rd half the time I have to blip the throttle for it too shift. And to beat all I'm experiencing a voltage drop with a bad alt from time to time so as you can see I have multiple issues I've got to get resolved.
Thursday night is Test N Tune here and I'm going to borrow EFIlive and record
a few passes and see where I stand.
Keep us informed with your Predator updates.

Predator wants to push 6 degress of spark on
you thinking "stock vehicle". Any kind of
ported MAF / ends / GMAF has got to be giving
you a double whammy there. You may be able
to get O2s right-enough with the PE adjust and
come out OK. I would remove the tune, put your
stock MAF on, reset the PCM by pulling the two
fuses, and try to get some road time in before you
go logging so as to let it bed in.

I would contact James at running with the Devil. His custom Predator tuning is VERY good. Only thing I don't like about the predator is there is no logging. They've been talking about getting it but not yet. I mean how the **** are you supposed to drive and look at whats going on???

But no james has great tunes and he is cheap too bad you didn't buy it from him custom tunes are free forever

OMG dude you had to SEND THE PREDATOR BACK!!! Dude call up RWTD I'll PM you the website. He sends you software and go to radio shack get a cable and a power supply. You can't fine tune sending the unit back and forth. I got about 6 different tunes for my car to "Fine" tune it and I may get a couple of more friday for a little bit of richness in WOT....

What should the timing be at WOT.
Ltrims? What else at WOT do I need to look at?
Motor is stock, free mods and headers no cats,
and yes the SES is on for that reason other than
that I have no codes.

I didn't buy my Diablo Predator from the MFG.
So that means I'll to pay for a custom tune?
How much will this run?

On the Predator, go to the "Real Time Data" section then write down your:

- LTFT's @ normal "steady" freeway cruising speed
- LTFT's @ WOT in 4th gear (3rd for A4's)
- O2 sensor readings at WOT (HO2S B1S1 & HO2S B2S1)
- amount of KR (if any) @ WOT

and send it in an e-mail (edit: along with a list of your Mods) to Johan at Diablosport johan@diablosport.com

I've gotten 3 custom tunes from him over the last 6 months, all free and usually within 24 hours.

Nick

Thanks for that info Nick, I will do just that.
Last night I logged a few runs at TestnTune with
Autotap EFIlive WOW man was I pig rich.
I was pullin 31.5 deg timing and knockin from 30 mph to 115 mph.
I made a few adjustments with my Predator to reduce the knock
and I'll be damn what difference that made. Granted I'm on bald
F1's, 3.23's but I am freakin smokin the tires with 2.0-2.12 60'
and my mph went back up to 110. Et's were in the 12.90's last night
but I feel like I'm makin more power all the way down the track.
Heck I was thrilled. Gotta get some tires and I think I'll get the 12.50's
from stock internals.
