Default 71 camaro ls1/4l40 swap to t-56

hey yall about a month ago i got a ls1/4l60 out of a 98 ss. i found a t-56 out of a 01 z 28. i have read that you can use the smae wiring harness. but i have also read that thr 98 harnesses need to be replaced. would if be in my best interest to find a ls1 manual pcm? instead of flashing this one and then re wiring it?

thanks for all the advice

IIRC, you can run the auto harness on a manual, but not vice versa. I could be completely wrong though. I researched this back when I first got my car because I originally wanted a t56.

Any particular reason you want a t56?

always had a auto and i just want a 6 speed. was looking into a super T-10 to go in it but mateing that up to the ls1 would be a pita. plus with a stick you dont have to worry with stalls. i really think i might just try and find a 99+ harness to mate with this that way everything will match up and i wont have to splice into the wires. im just looking for some tech advice before i go dropping money on it.

It will work but you will need to pin out the ecm to get Reverse lockout trigger. The vehicle speed sensor should plug in. Then you will have to wire in your Reverse tail lights as well on the side of the transmission.

Why bother. The computers are IDENTICAL.

The pins needed for your auto harness are like 13 dollars.
