Default High RPM idle; Ive about had it!! Arg.

Ok, When the engine is nice and warm up to operating temps.

When I drive around, come to a stop sign, put the tranny in neutral (Manual Tranny), and stop; The engine will rev to 1,500 rpms for about 8-10 seconds then fall to normal idle RPMS. It's starting to get annoying as F#ck!

What needs to be done to fix this? It doesnt do it when its cold, only when hot.

My automatic does the same thing when you start the car or put it into neutral etc so I look forward to hearing some ideas.

Without a data log, it's hard to say, but most likely the idle airflow needs to be dialed in.

I know its the tune as it didn't do it before the Dyno Tune. Before it would die!

Any reason why it does it at operating temps and not when the engine is cold and warming up?

Can this be fixed without another dyno?

You don't need a dyno. You need tuning software, and some patience.

The base idle airflow table is temp based. So, it's not uncommon for it to act differently at different temps.

Any recommendations? Or do I need the $$$ HP Tuners?

HPtuners would be the most affordable route. Let me know if you're interested, I'm an HPtuners dealer, and can provide you with the cable and the support to get it dialed in.

Everyone charges the same. 499 for the standard package, and 649 for the "pro". There are a few advantages to the pro versus the standard.

Different companies offer different incentives to purchase from them. Some offer package deals with "tuning school" packages, or Greg Banish books or DVDs. I offer free shipping (most do) and a starter tune for your particular vehicle.

In the case of the OP with a hanging idle issue, I would normally charge additional for tuning support which would involve helping him cure the problem through swapping data logs, instructions on how to set it up, etc.

If anyone wants addtional info, you can email me @ edcmat-l1@msn.com
