Default can you have switch activated maps?

I'm just wondering, is it possible to have a switch in a car to move between maps? Like one for mileage, one for performance? What about for different fuels?

Is this possible or would you have to load one every time?

depending on the computer type you use and the year/ make of car, changes the answer to your question. As of current, Yes and no.

Not to go off topic, but there is really no reason one tune cant be optimized for peak performance and mileage

I can see a benefit to this for different tunes for different octane levels, or even different fuels.
