Default vats-passlock

Is there any way to run an ls engine standalone without having the vats turned off with programming ecm? is there a way to incorporate the bcm to make this work?

Yes but No.
It is possible but it wouldn't be standalone. You need to install the BCM, key with resistor pellet and cylinder to make the engine start without disabling Vats.

A standalone install is a engine with only the PCM and basic wiring. It won't start if Vats is not disabled in the tune.

Not sure why you would go so far out of your way to make it all work. Just put a hidden kill switch in it somewhere. That or if you use EFIlive, you can hook up a swtich to just make it have no fuel somewhere...

A car thief of now is a lot more smart if they want to steal something. It involves a car trailer, or they just take the 22 seconds to flash the computer to a non vats state..... You can even send start command with no key via obd data for factory remote start cars, so I wouldn't be to worried about leaving the stock vats in place... It is worthless.. That is what insurance is for....

Sounds like you are either just testing an engine or doing a swap.

If it is pass lock it can still be dis abled in the pcm just differently from a lsx engine. Kiill vats in PCM file to make it run in standalone and put a switch in the crank position switch out put wire for security. Without crank position signal it will never start.

Yes I am just trying to make sure this engine runs etc before I invest money in programming.
