Default 98 to 02 pcm upgrade...no fuel guage

hey guys i upgraded my 98 to an 02 computer and obviously the fuel guage only reads full...We are using hp tuners and does anyone kno how to do a fuel segment swap on it... Ive read that ppl are using fuel segments from 02 vans but not sure how to do the swap. Is it just changing the numbers or do you have to contact hp tuners..any help is appreciated thanks

You have to have both of the files.

Yes both tune files. You would swap out the system segments.

Van and the car OS must match.

Correct, unless you know somebody with TunerCat, that will turn on the PWM output for the fuel gauge and set the perameters, that way no segment swap is required and you can around having to use the 2156 OS, since that is the OS that the 2002 van fuel segment works with.

Wrong, Fuel gauge is the system segment along with the a\c which on most trucks
is wired different then an F-Body and becomes your next hoop to go thru.

T\C can turn on the P\W.

Tunercat most certainly change the fuel gauge parameters, also do your own "segment swaps" if needed. The so called "segments" are actually individual calibration files, or modules.

You can also fix it with efi live if you know someone with it.

Minytrker is correct. EFIlive you can do this function by yourself without the need of anyone.

I believe that tunercat added that functionality just recently as well.
