Default MAF suggestion

Well, I might have a MAF problem. After all my mods on my engine, I never bought an aftermarket MAF. I've been having fueling problems and have tried a couple tunes (a borrowed one and a mail order from Thunder Racing). Both seem to behave the same. I have poor fuel economy, black rich exhaust, and rich O2 readings. Dyno results show low output (disappointing, yes). I'm starting to wonder if maybe my MAF is the problem. I ported the thing thinking it would be fine but I started to think the increased airflow is messing with the computer. Since it isn't calibrated, the extra air is telling the sensor to load up the engine with increased fuel (to compensate). Correct rationale? I'm going to try a GMS unit because I think it will fix it. Worth the change?

The rationale is kinda poor, all you know is that
the GMS should be expected to lean you out.
But whether you will get just, less or more than
you needed, you only find out after the money
is spent.

Seems like with LT1Edit you should be able to
adjust your MAF table (?) to true it up, if that
were in fact the problem. Lot of aftermarket,
potentially-mixture-altering mods on there.
Don't know what kind of logging tool you have
to work with or what kind of control you have
over PCM A/F tuning with LT1-Edit but I'd say
you need to work that angle, more than buy
a bent air meter to try and compensate a
twisted tune.

Yeah I've done some more research and I'm going to try a stocker MAF and then try to tweak the parameters with LT1 Edit because I shouldn't have messed with the original in the first place!
