i just ordered a diablo predator....any thing i need to know? I just ordered a predator from summit, along with the cable kit. Is there any thing i should know or look out for before using it?
i mainly want it to kill the skip shift, and fix the speedo from my 4.10 install

wow, surprised they still have them, since all predator's are dead and gone.. all were discontinued a year ago or more now...
make sure it's on the last update that was available for it.. when you power it up and it gets to the main menu, the revision number is shown at the top of the screen...
it should be a 9rxx number....
as long as it's on a 9rxx revision, you should be good to go out of the box...

They were discontinued for the new inTune device.
The Predator was around for 10 years or so, it outlived most electronic devices

Well I fixed that issue... Called summit, had them recall the package with the predator, and I ordered an intune..
Next day air, should have it for my road trip tomorrow.
The salesman said he had no idea they were discontinued.
They did how ever have no issues helping me out, and even though I had to pay for the intune now, I feel pretty good about how they handled the issue, and took care of me.
I definitely like dealing with summit, and aside from the discontinued issue, they represent the predator product well!

Ill post up my two cents when it arrives. Seeing as the predator was well received, and around for so many years, I'm looking forward to this being a good piece.

Intune.... $400 of "let me email you a fix for that"
The two things I wanted the damn thing to do, which it is advertised as being able to do, are adjust gear ratios, it DOES NOT have this feature, and kill CAGS (skip shift), there is also no feature for this. I will say that it is advertised that the canned tune will kill skip shift, but... It didn't seem to work.
It has a great auto update feature.... If you have a pc, this feature does not work on Mac.
I bought this thing because its supposedly awesome, and advertises it does the two things I wanted to do. It doesn't do those things.

Why do you have 3 threads on the same thing?
I would do a real dyno tune or atleast take it a to a tuner and have hime adjust it for you, shouldnt cost much

I was thinking of buying a predator cuz i can still find new ones and they come with canned tunes right? what makes the InTune better it seems like the predator can do everything and is $100+ cheaper, Ive only heard bad things about the InTunes.

Get a custom Predator/InTune tune from DiabLew and it can do all the things you want and much more. I'm very happy with my custom tune from Lewis.
Also, I'm pretty sure my Predator can turn off the skip shift feature. It is listed in the machine as CAGS. Take a look in your adjustable parameters list for CAGS.

One thing I read in the past even if you turn it off the light still may come on the cluster, I put the by pass in and my light comes on but I can still go to 2nd gear

...i also got the predator for the discontinued deal from summit...works great with the canned tune but the DIABLEW tune increases it drastically and he will work with you and has fast response!
