Does Tourqe Managment only affect me between shifts? L59 4l60 71 nova.
Just want to make sure its not cutting my power in WOT in gear. Ive been reading so much stuff im lost. Should be putting down 500 foot pounds and want to make sure im getting all of it. I dont mind TM kicking in during shifts.

This depends a lot on the platform. The F-bodies
were pretty simple, just during shifts with the rest
of it dummied out. But beware newer PCMs with the
drive by wire throttle, there's a bunch more action
hidden under traction control that can be more work
to root out and will affect steady in-gear running if
torque levels are high.

Now you might ask yourself just how long a 4L60E
will last when pinned between high torque and high
traction, if'n you -don't- manage it. I can tell you
that one time, on a setup more stout than yours
(AWD truck with blower plus jug) it was under a week.

If your approach consists of adding rocks and hard
places, well....

This guy "fixed" the problem by going to a 4L80E. And
then it ate the transfer case.

I do have DBW, I suppose with tech 2 I could view ignition retard? Engine is from 03 taho and trans is a 99 camaro. At this time I can appreciate the TM kicking in between shifts, But if I can some how monitor its actions while in gear and see allot of retard I guess ill have to fiddle with the tune? I know its going to break at some point. But its not a track car and I don't drive like an *** so i think it will hold till this winter. We have Tech 2 at work ill have to see if it has Tm in one of the data lists.
