problem spark advance rpm tuning
so ive finally got my timing somewhat locked at 22 * (150 shot) my only problem is it locks at 4000 rpm i know its not suppose to be consistant at low rpm but i would like to at least get its some where around 3 grand. In my high octane table i have it start at 1800 i have no knock i dont know whats going on if anyone can give some input that would be great thanks.

I don't even understand what you're saying, about
"locks" and wanting something by some RPM. But
22 degrees timing against a 150 shot seems kinda
troubling, though I'm no nitrous guru.

Assuming that your nitrous kit has a WOT switch like most do, I would say you really only need to worry about what your timing is doing at WOT. Also, an RPM window switch is usually something worthwhile as well - so you know exactly when the nitrous will kick on/off (ex. on @ 3k RPM and off @ 6k RPM). Set up the kit for the car....not the tune for the kit. Just my $0.02...
As for locking in timing at WOT, you need to figure out which cells in your timing table are referenced at WOT (grams/cyl). Once you figure that out, I'd go through the timing tables (high and low) and set them where you want them.

Great - so you just need to log the right PIDs to show you how many grams/cyl your seeing at each RPM interval. Once you have that, you can make the changes in and around those cells in the timing map.

I haven't been in HPT in a while. In EFI Live, it's called something like DYNCYLAIR. You're looking for a decimal. On a near stock car, it should be in the neighborhood of .72 grams per cyl around 3500-5500 RPM (if I recall correctly). Maybe someone else who is actively using the HPT data logger could chime in?
