SLP TCS module necessary with HPT Pro?
Right now during the summer I have found myself turning off the TCS whenever I actually remember to as I do not enjoy timing being pulled or the pedal being thrown back at me when the road is dry. I am about to start learning HPT Pro and was wondering if I can "tune" the TCS out or if I would even need the SLP TCS module. I am also considering just pulling the TCS fuse and putting it back in when the rain comes back.

That would help. Does the ABS kick on when I floor it to stop wheelspin or only when coming to a hard stop? Will getting rid of the spark retard and doing the torque management steps (640s and 0s) that I have found online at least make the TCS a lot less active or will the ABS and pedal just take up the slack for what I get rid of with the spark retard adjustments?

It seems counterintuitive, but if you give the TCS
spark retard -more- latitude, you will get into the
second layer (throttle pullback) less often. You will
still get it if you mat it, though, unless the spark
alone can kill wheelspin.
In the end I swapped cables to bypass the "gizmo",
gave it more spark leeway and since then I have
not ever gotten ABS-apply (third layer). Though I
have not really tried to drag-launch with the switch
on. That there just has to be part of your pre-flight
checklist.
It would be cool to rig a WOT switch and relays to
cut out the "gizmo" and the ABS trigger from the
TCS "brain" whenever it's matted, but keep the
action for normal driving on impaired surfaces.
