Default Holley HP EFI Guys

I just got to try to fire my car up for the first time last night and ran into a problem....

I have the V2 of the Holley HP Efi setup in my car. Ls1 Harness and Ls2 injector harness.

I chose the 480HP Ls2 Cal from the custom cals that came with the Holley. I changed the crank trigger to 24X and my injector size. Saved it to the Holley and did the TPS autoset. I get readings from all the sensors besides MAT and Fuel Pressure since im not using them.

I get 0 RPM's when cranking. No spark.

Am I missing something in the initial tune configuration?
Do I need to choose custom on ignition setup? If so what parameters do I need?
Crank and Cam sensors are connected, unplugged and plugged back in.

All power and grounds are going directly to the battery to avoid any issues while we were testing this.

I would check the crank sensor first to see if you get a signal when cranking. Did you use a new sensor or one that was known to be functioning before the swap?

I would wire the power and grounds as they recommend. The main power and ground right to the battery, the underhood ground needs to go to the back of the block, an under hood constant power (that could go directly to battery), the switched 12v should be wired to your ignition. Also do you have the block grounded to the chassis? The Holley is very sensitive to grounds that includes making sure he coils are bolted down as well.

The crank sensor came with the motor from the JY. It was an 80K mile LQ9

I picked up a new crank sensor last night. I am going to try that hopefully later tonite or tomorrow.

I did not ground the block to the chassis yet. The harness had 2 grounds that went to the heads. The only wires that were really extended and not connected near the ignition were the 12V switched and small ground wire that comes off the harness up there. I just ran them back to the battery directly while we cranked it.
Coils are good and bolted down

SOAB edcmat-l1 just pointed out my first issue...... I never realized I downloaded Holley HP on my laptop and desktop a few months ago. Its version 1.5 and not 2.x.....

I though it was the new software already....

Upgrading my laptop now and will be attempting it today again

Was that the only change you made? Just upgrading to V2?

Yea my laptop and desktop were both 1.5.
I had installed the 480LS2 tune (from the V1.5 on my laptop) to the V2 Holley unit in the car.
I installed V2 on my laptop from the CD that came with it.
Opened up the 480LS2 tune, made the changed for my injectors and reluctor, saved it to the Holley unit and boom she fired up.

Hopefully this weekend all the gauges will be done and I can get a video of it running but not for long, don't know how the neighbors will appreciate the open headers......

Ok so it runs but I can't figure out why the Wide Band shows 35...

I went to closed loop learn and set the advanced control to 5
Then clicked on Learn parameters and clicked the check for Base Fuel Learn Enabled
The set learn gain to 100%

The minimum coolant temp was unchecked so we could see changes right away

No changes were being made in the learn table.

also when trying to make adjustments with the Base Fuel table while running it wasn't letting me make any adjustments...

Anyone got any ideas on whats up...???

Did you figure out the live tuning issue? If your laptop didn't say "online" at the top next to "toolbox", you aren't physically sync'd with the ecu.

chuckd71. Did you get your issue resolved?

It was Online and I knew it because you can't change other fields like Engine Parameters when its online. They were grayed out.

I am going to try it again later tonite and see if I can figure out the datalog portion while I try it.

That's really odd. I've worked with hundreds of people on these things, and not once have I seen it fail to change when tuning. The only thing I could see preventing that would be a communication delay from the pc. As far as the learn not populating, it will not learn when A) coolant temp enrichment is active, B) accel enrichment is active.

I unchecked Coolant and the RPM/TPS Options in the Closed Loop Learn section.

I am not using a MAT sensor. will that have an effect?

Ran out of time today since its late and I don't want to fire it up open header in my tent. But will def try it tomorrow again.
