What kinda laptop do I need for HP Tuners?
Hey guys, I just purchased HP Tuner ( its still in the mail). I was wondering what requirements for a laptop do I need to run Hp Tuner. I want it to be able to handle it with no problem but still be cheap. Also i want to keep it in my car!

I had comms problems on a 100MHz Toshiba, it could not
keep up with the data rate on PCM reads, but otherwise
it would run the software.
I have been using a 266MHz ThinkPad with no trouble
(though I had to give it a bunch of RAM to keep it from
being a pain in the ***, generally - nothing to do with
HPTuners, it would just thrash VM constantly and even
booting Windoze took forever).
Get something like a 333 - 500MHz-class laptop with
a hardware serial port (forget the USB kind, they give
a lot of people problems, USB blows for real-time use).
Lots of cheap ones on eBay in that class.

These are the requirements from hptuners.com. Of course I wouldn’t recommend running the bare minimum.
Minimum Requirements:
150 mhz PC or Laptop (Flash and Editor)
300 mhz PC or Laptop (Recommended for Scanner)
64 MB of RAM
8 MB of Disk Space
Native Serial Port or PCMCIA serial adapter
