Default 02 TA ws6 new LSX Bowtie what comp?

So I am placing a 427 LSX bowtie block into my 2002 transam and I am wondering if I can update the factory ws6 ls1 computer for the new motor or do i go and get a gen IV computer for this motor?

Yes your factory pcm can be re-programmed for the 427. If it has a 58x reluctor wheel you will need to run a lingenfelter box to convert the signal back to 24x. You also may need to change your map and knock sensors depending on what you have on the new motor. You cant just go get a gen IV computer and plug it in and make it work.

It has a 24x reluctor so is it safe to assume it will work after a tune with my ls1 comp?

Yes, after a tune it will work fine on your ls1 computer.
