Default HP Tuners and timing

What should HP tuners show on the scanner display for a stock engine at idle, and at various RPM?

Does this figure shown on the scanner indicate base timing, or overall with advance?

There is no mechanical or vacuum advance without a distributor. The figure on the scanner is the actual timing.

Does 18* @idle to a max of 40* @ RPM sound about right, sounds a bit high to me?

Idle timing for a stock LS1 with unmodified tune goes from 8° to 28° max
There are a few adders that can add up to 7°

It is uncommon to see more than 25° for a healthy engine. Post a datalog to see what is happening

around 18* idle. To see a stock LS1 file go to hptuners and download one.

O.k. I will get a log. In your guys' opinion, would this much advance cause this?
