Default Cooling fan Activation temperature???

Had my PCM tuned by frost for my LSX swap. Just recently my standalone cooling fan switch pooped out. ( it was the coolant probe kind from autozone). So instad of wasting money I was thinking about just wiring the fan to the PCM. But im unaware of frost's turn on times for the fans. Is it a base temperature that he codes in all of his tunes? Also how does the PCM cooling fan setup work? Would I need a universal type relay from the part store?

What degree thermostat is in your motor? You would need to talk to Frost about his tune.

If it was my project, I would forget PCM control, buy
a pair of snap action thermostats (encapsulated) from
Digi-Key and use those to control fans based on rad
outlet temperature, kick the first fan on at about
20 degrees below your thermostat crackpoint and
2nd, about 10 degrees below. Thermostat runs fan
relay coil (might just get new ones), relay runs fan.

The stock Camaro setup is kinda kooky, logically.
Puts fans in series for low speed and parallel for
high speed. You don't need to be so fancy, but
the series connection does make them run slow and
quiet when "low speed".

I have converted several project cars to electric fans. No issues even for daily driven cars, I live in a city with very hot summers.
PCM control works way better than any other controller I have seen, PCM control is completely reliable since it uses ECT sensor for activation. You also get better A/C fans performance if you set the tune properly.

If the PCM didn't come with stock efans you need to do the wiring and tune the PCM for 2 fans with proper on/off temps.
You can wire them 2 different ways:
1- Both fans turn on at the same time, low/high speed. 3 relays, quieter
2- One fan for low temp, both for high temp, full speed always. 2 relays, noisier
