Default Using computer for just gauges?

I want to do a proof of concept of going carbureted in my 4th gen before a rip my computer and all the wiring out and run all new gauges. Will anything need to be done to the computer for it to run the stock gauges once I disconnect all the air and fuel related stuff? Thanks.

I hate computers in cars, it's simpler, cleans up the engine compartment very nicely and most importantly I want to be able to tune my own car. I don't have the time, patience or desire to learn the computer tuning crap.
