IXLR8 1961

Bought my first LS powered vehicle. 98 Trans Am mostly stock CAI, cat back.Working ram air, performs well. No codes just minor issues. Car sat a while before I got it. Bought a Diablosport I-1000 tuner but it will not read this ecu. I`m about to freshen the heads and do a little port clean up while I`m there and install GM hot cam lifters and springs. I`m going to upgrade to some high flow cats and build a better exhaust. What can I expect as far as tuning changes needed with that cam and a better flowing exhaust? Whats the best way to tune since my diablosport wont read this 98 ecu. Can I go with a later ECU that it will read or just bite the bullet and buy a different tuning setup like HP or some other? Anyone have some suggestions. I`m a professional tech and former automotive instructor but my experience is primarily european so I could use some practicle advise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Diablosport I-1000 tuner only does 99 and up f-bodys... Hp Tuners is great and should work for you, and offer more options than the Diablosport.

As mentioned, we don't support the 98 PCM unfortunately.
