Default no idle in park or neutral

hi, i purchased a ls6 out of a cts-v cad. it had an standard tranny. i instauled a 4l60e. got a harness and ecm redone. it starts but dies when i put it in neutral or park. runs just fine in drive or reverse. i had a friend hook up a scanner and he says the ecm is calling for 0 idle speed in park and neutral. it is normal in drive and reverse. pulling to a stop sign all is normal and idles fine. anyone ever have this problem?

both ecm's were stock tune except for the normal, theft removal, gear ratio, down line o/2 removal. both were from am cts-v with the correct service number. also this car is a drive by wire and all that is retained. the throttle works just fine. i can keep it running in park and neutral but i have to hold open the throttle just a tad and it runs and idles fine!

There are various running airflow tables that have different
in-gear and P/N rows in them. Maybe one of these has some
dumb values inadequate to support A4 trans pump load etc.,
are either of these donor PCMs from an A4 setup?

A4 is a term used to mean "automatic 4 speed"

M6 is "manual 6 speed"

ok, thanks. yes all 2005 cts-v were 6 peed manual trannys i guess. automatics were not available. so i know one was from the donar car and am assuming the other was a m6 car. but i wanted the 4l60e. i am almost done with this nomad and would really love to get this thing to the driver point. just cant get this idle thing fixed.

If using a man trans PCM, it has all zeroes in both the idle speed table as well as the base running airflow table for auto trans.

The PCM is just doing what it is told to do

You need to populate those tables.

very intresting Ron. i wonder if the place that worked on the pcm can do that or does it take some special software? they never said anything about this and i have been begging them to find the problem! Thanks you, i will ask them.

If that does not work, you may be able to have him do a segment swap with an auto car and reflash the tune for you.

turns out that if you have dbw that the airflow has to be populated. if it is dbc the airflow does not matter! mine is dbw and it needed it because it was originally a 6 speed car and converted to 4l60e. but the dbw was the problem. thanks all
