Default Tuning VE table ?s

Tried posting on Hp tuners forum but that place is a ghost town. Just wanting to make sure im on the right path. I've followed the sticky here and im to the point of making changes. Unfortunately this is only a idle and rev histogram. Cant drive until track opens this evening. From what I read I need to highlight my afr error histogram and click average. Then go to my ve table and hit multiply by %? Then copy to the secondary ve table? Is it really this simple to tune for SD or am I missing something? Thanks

Yes it's that simple, you multiply the VE table(s) by whatever error (or trims) reading you get and that's it.

That's wild, and I have both LTFT and STFT disabled so the only variables im using to tune is the afr error histogram? Should I enable STFT? Thanks for your reply

Trust me, it's not that easy. You're right in how to do it but you better know how to not use bad information and how to setup filters. You can tune it by AFR error or STFTs or LTFTs. There's many ways to skin a cat.

Filters are your friend.

PS, wait until you try to tune when it's hot out and you get heat soak into the equation if you don't mess with the bias table for ECT Vs IAT.

I followed the directions from hptuners website. What do you mean by setting up filters? I have went through and disabled all the adder tables that could affect things due to coolant temp etc. Thanks for you reply

in your histogram settings on scanner you will see a line item that says <filter>. one filter i am using to not populat my histogram with bad data is throtle position. when you lift the throttle it messes up your data. [sens.90]>10 will only log information with greater than 10% throttle.

if doing wot runs you may want to set up with more than 10%.

i do not know where a key is that tells you which sensor number belongs to which sensors. i have only found that information above reading the forums.

FYI, you can apply the filters after taking your data.

I know this is old, but i'm desperate. Everytime I add a filter to my aff error histo, I see the red symbol on #7 meaning the histo aint happy.

I'm trying to use this for example.

[SENS.121]< 14.6 (there isnt actually a space in my filter, but this forum wont allow me to post it without)

I'm trying to filter out PE..

Actually the red star means the histogram has a filter on it.
