Default PCM difference

Is there a difference between a 2002 ecm and a 2004 ecm? I bought a ecm from PSI performance and their web site says they are 2004 units but when i plugged mine in with my HP Tuners it says it's out of a 2002 Silverado? I'm running a 2004 lq9 with a LS3 top out of a 2008 vette, would it make a difference with tuning capabilities??

02 will be a blue/red connector PCM. 04 will be a blue/green connector PCM. For the most part on V8 RWD applications.
