Won't idle after battery disconnect/reconnect
Alright guys. Been a while since I've been here. 01 ss heads, cam, bolt ons, tune. Bought a new battery back in November. Battery went dead last week. Pulled it out, put it on charge overnight. No dice. Wouldn't hold a charge. Got the battery replaced under warranty the next day. Hooked it up this morning, tried to start. Started fine, but won't idle. Can hold the pedal at idle speed and it sounds fine. Take your foot off and it idles down til it dies. Any ideas?

i dont want to say it's "normal" but it's common for a cammed vehicle to act a little bitchey when the battery is disconnected. start it, peddle it and take it for a cruis while keeping it running with your foot if you have to. eventually the computer will "learn" and make some minor corrections in your tune.

It happens to my car too. It has to re-learn.
Try resetting the IAC and TPS
Not sure if this is the step by step but it works for me.
Turn your key to the OFF position.
Unplug your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and IAC.
Turn your key to the ON position for a few seconds, and then OFF again.
Plug in the TPS and IAC and then turn your key to the ON position and restart engine.
I just let it idle for a bit and go through the gears. Mines an auto. Then drive it around.

I don't want to sound too stupid, but both the IAC and the TPS are connected to the throttle body, yes? If not, pics/location? I haven't worked on this car in a few years. She's been running great for so long.

A properly tuned car won't have this problem. If the idle airflow and afr is correct in the tune there will be minimal learning by the pcm.
The more learning you leave to the pcm the more issues you will have after battery disconnects or coldstarts.
So, a good tune will be the solution to your problem

The TPS/IAC reset did the trick. Not too worried about updating the tune right now. I started amassing parts for my new build (turbo LQ4) a while back. Hopefully to be completed by the end of winter.
Thanks for all of your help guys.
