i checked some websites ....so far i understand the difference of the 2 and 3 wire water temp sensors...

i guess i do have a 2 wire temp sensor....tomorrow i am back in the garage and will verify that..

But nevertheless...if i do have a 2 wire sensor , i could splice off the wire which goes to the computer ..so with the added wire i could go directly to the water temp gauge .!!!

Here in Germany it is not that easy to get a 3wire sensor....so i would go with the added 3 wire...

Or does that occur some trouble signals to the PCM ??

Hope to hear from you soon, regarding i want to splice off the wire tomorrow :-)

Thanks a lot

You need to tell us which year car and pcm you have. I think the 1998 had the 3 wire and the rest had the 2 wire. I used the 3 wire on my 1992 chevy pickup swap for my truck's temp gauge. Worked perfect for me.
