Gen3 5.3 to gen4 6.0 ECM q's
I recently purchased a car with a gen3 5.3 swap already in place. I have a gen4 6.0 that I want to swap in. I will be swapping out the vvt for a the gen3 style cam. Aside from the tuning that needs to be done, can I use the ECM that is in place for the 5.3, or do I need to source a different one?

You will have to use a Lingenfelter converter box to convert the 58X crank sensor signal to 24x that the Gen 3 PCM requires. Will have to use a 1x cam reluctor gear (lower left in pic) since the Gen 4 cam sensor is in the timing cover instead of on the back of the cam. Gen 4s use the 4x. Might require a different cam sensor too. Not sure if the sensors are the same between 1x and 4x.

Correct, I forgot about that. Is a LS2 with a 24x crank really considered a Gen4? I thought it required the 58x to be considered Gen4.
Or you could change the crank reluctor to a 24x and use the 1x cam gear. That would also require the matching 24x crank pos sensor.
