Default 2001 LS1 pcm tach output to Toyota tacho

Hope this is in the correct section.

I've done a LS1 conversion into my ex V6 1991 Toyota 4Runner and can't get the factory tacho to work. I've tried a 1K ohm resistor but this didn't seem to work. I've also got a Dakota sgi8 tach adapter here which I haven't tried yet as I'm not sure if this will make any difference.
The factory gauge signal came from an output on the igniter. I've included a diagram of the factory wiring

Did you try putting a cap in series with the output from the PCM?

Ended up installing the Dakota box and it works like a charm
