Default Experimenting w/Autotap?

I'm new to using Autotap and don't have a programmer yet, but I have some questions about what to look for when making changes to my truck. I want to experiment with changes such as different types of spark plugs, different air filters, intakes, and some small modifications to see how they affect my truck. What should I be looking for that will give me a hint that something I change is for the better or worse? I know rich/lean condition and intake air temp, but what else?

Thanks,
Perry

That's the only thing i wish Auto tap would send you....a manual! of exlpanations for all of the stuff that it has. If anyone on here has any tutorials, please let us know.
