I have a motor on order from Thompson Motorsports. It will run on the stock tune but needs a custom tune to really run well. Can anyone recommend a tuner in northern Colorado, eastern Wyoming, or western Nebraska. If not, what other options do I have? Since the motor will run on the stock tune, should I just try to tweak it myself? I've been rebuilding engines and writing software since the 80s. Technology I can grasp. How much of tuning is a "dark art"?

It's not that difficult. I suggest if your budget allows, buy hp tuners, tweak a stock vehicle or two to get the feel for it and then tune you engine. Read the tutorials.
