Default Bluecat's Trans Tuning is pretty awesome

I don't know how I didn't see this before, but I found on HPT forum. I thought I'd post here to help with any trans tuning you may be doing.

Simple thing is my 4000 stall now drives pretty much like stock after using Phil's software program. I may need to do some tweaking to get it to unlock a little faster in 4th, but by-and-large, this made my car much closer to "stock" feeling.

Yes. Phil made this available to everyone.

The output tables are what you want for HPTuners.

How do I go about uploading this? I just did ss3600 with built 4l65e, can't get damn thing tuned to lock up at later speed. It's set too low, can't seem to change anything to make it better. I have hp tuners btw.

Just put in the 3600 stall, 4L60, choose your throttle body, and your rearend and tire size.

Then click "export window" and choose the 4-speed shift tables.

First table is the Part Throttle Shift table in HPT under Trans>Auto Speed Shift.

Next is the WOT shift table which is Full Throttle Shift Speed Normal in HPT.

Next is the WOT RPM Table that goes in Full Throttle Shift RPM in HPT.

Last is the TCC Table. Put that under Trans>Auto TCC>Apply/Release Speed Normal.

Should be good to go.

So I've tried the software, haven't got to put it to practice yet though. Are those the only four tables in hpt that need to be changed? I don't need to worry about the performance and hot tables for each or do I apply it to all conditions for a given table?

For anyone that's used it how were your results? Just looking for more feedback from the at home users.

My performance table is all set at 255 anyway. So there's nothing to change. That just keeps it from locking up. I'm not sure when it selects that?

The hot tables are factory. I'd leave them alone. If your trans is melting, the lower lockup probably is a good thing.

Car drives fine with these numbers. You may find you need to tweak them. Like my stall is much more efficient than his numbers for a 4000, so I had to play with the shift points some at WOT. But I found the part-throttle to work fine, so I didn't mess with them.

Any street car with an aftermarket stall should have a dedicated transmission cooler on it. Then you don't have to worry about melting it.

Default Bluecat's Trans Tuning is pretty awesome

The Performance tables are not used in the LS1 F-car (there's no PERF/TOW/HAUL switch).

If trans is overheating you want TCC to lockup as soon as possible because stall slippage generates more heat.

And +1 on the external cooler.

Ok. I've got a trans cooler, I was just unsure of what conditions those tables were applied. I haven't messed with hpt in a while

I have a big B&M cooler with -6AN lines. It will get up around 190 in traffic in the heat here. But if I get on the open highway, it'll drop down to 170 or so and stay there.

Good evening,

Just found this thread, trying to learn all I can about this. Just installed a 4l60e with 3200 stall on a 5.3 in my Avalanche. I have a bad chatter when lock-up comes on @45 and the RPM's drop to like 1200. Without lockup or if I bring the RPM's up over 1600, it goes away. It runs fine on the highway. Trying to move my lockup to a higher RPM. Do I want the unlock speeds to be the same as the lock speeds?

Post-reanimator--you are responding to/posting on a post from 2015... You might want to start a NEW post in the TRANSMISSION forum for better/faster results.

Yes, old post, but it was the first relative post I found for what I was needing when I did my search for it so I took a chance one of the original posters was still around on it and could help.
