Default LS2 GTO PCM in a LS1 Camaro

Is it simply as easy as swapping my pcm from my 02 Camaro for a pcm from a LS2 GTO without tuning it? Looking to get that 400hp tune in my car. I understand the differences between the LS1 and LS2. Just wondering if it'll run. I can do a crank relearn if it's required. Thanks.

You will have to repin everything because that pcm is very different. Did it come with a harness?

You'll need an LS2 DBW throttle body and a GTO DBW pedal. And an LS2 harness to tie it all together. There's also a knock senor difference. But the engine will run with the E40 PCM if installed properly.

Should've known better than to believe that GM wouldn't keep it simple. I'd be better to then just have my current pcm tuned for how I want it.

What does a lingenfelter crank converter box do? Allow you to run newer PCM's?

It's not relevant to your question. Both the GTO E40 PCM and your stock ECM are for use with 24x reluctor wheel engines.

Got the computer now, is actually for a 2010 Camaro. 12633238 pcm figured I couldn't use it, so I have it listed for sale now on ebay.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish that you would want to swap PCMs?

Are you just trying to bump your post count to access the classifieds?

Yes, just get your existing factory PCM tuned for your engine and mods.
Your statement "Looking to get that 400hp tune in my car" makes no sense at all. Hooking another engine's stock PCM onto your engine will give you less power, assuming it even starts; possibly the fueling would be so wrong as to damage your engine. You would then need to get the new PCM tuned and the result would be the same power as getting your existing PCM tuned.

No I'm not trying to rack any post numbers so I can post into the classified section. I had a legitimate question and was hoping to cheaply pick up some easy horsepower. However I didn't, at the time of my original post, realize it was PCM out of a 2010 Camaro. That changes things for sure. I also didn't put into account for the differences between the drive by wire and my cable type. Thanks for answering my earlier questions, I'll be saving up for a BlackBear tune as I had a pretty good experience in my last truck I had them to tune.

You should be happy with that.

As posted above the difference between the ls1 power and ls2 power is from the heads, cam, and displacement rather than the PCM calibration. Everything would be so wrong your vehicle likely wouldn't even run.

A mail order or dyno/street tune to your existing PCM will get you the results you want.
