Reality check before purchasing credits
I wanted to double check and make sure all of my understanding is correct before I start purchasing credits.
I have a 411 PCM and both 2.24 Pro and 2.25 Beta versions of HP Tuners.
The hardware I'm using:
LS1
4L80E
DBW throttle body, C5 TAC & pedal
LS9 MAP
I figured the 12212156 OS would be the best starting point since it is so versatile (80E & DBW options) and it can run the 3bar OS.
My question is - with this OS version, is an 80E segment swap necessary? There is a drop down selection for the trans type, but I'm thinking that it can't be this easy....can it? The only transmission tuning experience I have is the newer GM platforms with a TCM (GTO/G8). I don't think it's that easy, because the segment IDs in the 2156 OS for the transmission and trans diags (9358310 & 16264429) are different than the Express van for that same year which has the 80E (9358344 & 16264406).
I did find some segment swapped tunes in the repository, but they are a different OS ID and probably not ideal.
Any help or sage advice is much appreciated - thanks!

I wish it was that easy but unless something has changed you need to do a segment swap. I always wondered why that menu is there but it doesn't work. I tried on a 1999 gmc 5.3 auto pcm to change to a manual. It did change things but I lost throttle follower and cracker. So I went back to the auto tune and used that way.

use the new 2.25 beta to do the seg swap (both tranny and tranny dignostics )to a 80e. then full flash to pcm. pull with 2.24 and start tuning.
