Default What is the going rate for tuning?

Whats going on everybody, I ready to get my car tuned and have been calling around and a local highly regarded shop said a cam only tune will run $650. Is that about the going rate? Im use to getting my fully built turbo import tuned out the door for $400 so 650 seemed pretty steep.

With that being said can anyone recommend a shop in San Diego/Los Angeles area so I can make some more phone calls. Thanks.

Here on the East Coast I'm used to paying in the $400 range for a full LS tune.

"You don't always get what you pay for, but you always pay for what you get."

$650 isn't out of line. It's a little high, but as long as it includes the dyno time then it's not bad.

If the tuner/shop does good work and stands behind it then I wouldn't worry.

For LS vehicles we charge $500 for NA dyno tunes and start at $600 for power adders go up from there depending on application. Ford and dodge it all depends on what software we tune it with and whether or not you need a handheld if we have to use SCT.

Do your research on who tunes in Southern California, there's a lot of places to avoid lol
