Street brawler 3200 stall
Hey guys, I will be putting in a built 4l60e and went with the fti's 3200 street brawler converter. My question is will I need a tune for the larger converter?

You can get by with some nonideal behaviors but you'll be
happier with things trued up. Even a smaller converter
(TCI SF3000) I found rev limiter, and the shift points wanted
fixed. Then behind that there was the converter's need for
more line pressure and so on. That may come down to cases
but generally a "performance" converter with a smaller diameter
will need some help with that. You may also find you need to
touch misfire tables to get reliable lockup under all conditions,
and low mass may destabilize idle / return-to-idle. You won't
know the whole shopping list until you've driven it some. So
you might even plan on two passes - best guess, in order to
do said driving, and a tighten-up once you've assessed it at
some length.
So probably a good time to look at the economics of owning
the tuning tools.
