Quick question about tb size and tuning
I have a ls2 throttle body on my lq9 swapped Jeep.
I'm considering going to a truck tb to remove the xlink after getting tb position error codes again after replacing the x link 6 months ago.
Question, I have a speed density tune with the ls2 tb. If I go to an original 3 bolt truck tb, will it be necessary to retune or will it be drive able with the same tune?

Yeah, I've had the same problems with the ls2 throttle body as well. They just don't work with certain TAC controllers because the throttle opens in the opposite direction and the controller can't make heads or tails of the tps sensors, making it just ragequit and throw codes.
Eventually, I wound up keeping the xlink and switched the ls2 out for a ls3/ls7 throttle body after a lot of time, research, and headaches. Hasn't thrown a code since then.

Yeah I originally had the gold blade ls3 tb which wouldn't tune at all wjth the xlink. Ls2 worked then it started throwing throttle correlation error codes. I replaced the xlink and worked fine for about six mons. Then yesterday it went limp and thru a p1516, and p2135 again.
Which is why I'm thinking of just saying screw the xlink and go wjth a truck tb. Just not sure if I'm going to need a retune immediately or if it will still run fine.

I would think it will run just fine.
Are you tuning this yourself?
When swapping from the stock TB to an LS2 on my vette, I changed the ETC area scalar.
Might compare your tune to the truck tune and see if it's different.
BTW, I'm looking for a good LS2 TB. Mine occasionally throws a TPS code.

I'll let you know if I decide to sell this one.
I'm thinking about just ordering the fast adapter and a new truck tb and see how it runs on the current tune.
I've got PRC 2 5 heads, z06 cam and a fast lsxrt intake. I initially thought the stock tb wouldn't be large enough. But now I'm beginning to wonder if I swapped to a truck tb if I would gain low end power besides eliminating the xlink.
