4L80E swap tuning help
First 4L80 swap and having issues. 2006 Escalade, turbo, 3000 Circle D converter and B&M 70274 Supercooler. Been driving for about two weeks and started out with TRANSMISSION HOT on display. Gauge only read around 160 degrees. Added the Supercooler and having the same issues. Also I have read about locking the converter settings need to be changed or you can burn it up. The segment filed used does not have nearly the same settings as the file from my van (OS does not match) so I am a little lost as to what needs to be done. I have attached the stock file, segment file, and one where I have downloaded a 4L80E Stock file with quite different settings that I copied into my tune but have not loaded out of sheer fear. Hoping someone can help.

I'm guessing that you had a 4L65 before the 80?
I was under the impression that you don't do a segment swap on a PCM where the TCM is separate. I'm running my 80 on a 4L60 tune and changed the trans gear ratios and set the rest of the tables where I wanted them for shifting and lockup. I took the easy route and used the swap harness with the relays instead of moving the wiring in the trans plug. The hot signal might just be the older OS that you have in there now and it's not playing well with the trans. Some of the older 80's didn't have the temp sensor built into the trans wiring harness. Do you have the newer harness (inside the trans )?

I know in the stock file it has the drop down for 4l60 or 4l80, but I was helped on another forum and recieved instruction that I had to segment swap and that is where the segment file came from which appears to be from like 98 or 99 and explains less tabs or settings. I wish I could use the segment from my van, I have it right where I like it and no troubles.

I don't think that you can segment swap where you have a PCM and the TCM separate. Check the HP Tuners website. I believe that info is on there.
Can't you go back to the stock tune and select 4L80 ? There are two solenoids that are opposite operating in the 80. If you have an E40 PCM, you should have to do the wiring change in the trans plug. Then you can just plug in the values from your van--or most of them.

That's what I had thought originally, but one of the members on there said no and sent me that segment which did work as for the segment swap. I'm going to try the drop down from the tune with the 4L65E was in and see how that works. I did do the wire swap at the trans plug and added the second VSS to the PCM.

Not sure on how the relay harness works, I moved the pins and added the second VSS to the ECM. 2.24 and 2.25 both had the drop down to select 4l80e, but I was told I couldn't do it that way. It is looking like that is the way I should have done it though. I will post back with the outcome when I do that with the original file.
