Default E38 and ID1000 injectors

Ive got id1000's to fit to a G8, and have been told a few ways how to tune the E38 for them, I want to know which way is best?.....3 methods ive been told are:

1.Scale everything back 50%, all fuel, air, spark and torque tables
2.divide the injector flow rate by 2 then times the stoich table by 2 and halve the IVT terms
3. Max out the flow rate table to 127 lb hard limit and adjust the VE/maf to the AFR's i need

Please point me in the right direction TIA

1. this is good, scale VE, MAF, IFR by same factor; shift down (by same factor) all tables referencing airmass on their axis (this is actually painstakingly tedious to do).

2. this is better provided you don't run into the MAF upper limit (depends on which year E38); it's better because VE and MAF are close to reality (if properly corrected), and you don't have to shift down the tables refefencing airmass.

3. this is a bad idea for various reasons (engine runs poorly at conditions other than what it was tuned at).

Very most likely method 1.

( I'm not sure about the IVT, I'll need to take a closer look )

Or you use the data ID provides, which was tested and verified. This is part of why the injectors cost so much. You're getting data no one else has, including GM...

You can scale if needed.

The problem he may run into is that he will exceed the MAF upper limit...

so he will either have to scale ID's data, or run SD.

I think the ID website shows how to scale.

Default E38 and ID1000 injectors

Some E38's have 8 g/s (64 lb/hr) IFR max flowrate (before 2009), and other E38's have 16 g/s (128 lb/hr) max (after 2009);

the ID1000's flow something like 12 g/s (96 lb/hr).

He has a pre-2009 E38 so he could do method 2 and run SD.

Thanks for the help guys, its a 2009 e38 so has the hard limit of 127lb flowrate for injectors, ive since downloaded id1000 injector data and tryed 25% scaling which also works, it'll have more resolution at 25%, it'll be tuned in speed density and a eforce charger on top.... Thanks again
