Default Does 30k miles = SES light?

Driving home yesterday I look down at my dash and see the SES light is on. The car runs perfectly and I haven't done anything to the car in a while to set it off myself. I also notice that the odometer reads 30020miles. I didn't notice it was on during my ride in to work, but it could have been. Regardless, I don't have a scanner to pull the code. Is this something GM does so I can go waste 1hr sitting in their service dept while they clear a bogus code? The car acts 100% normally and the engine is more or less stock... any thoughts?

no, 30k does not set a code.

Try a PCM reset, and see if it comes back (if drivability seems normal). If it does come back, get it scanned.
