Default Help needed finding a tuner il burbs

Guys, i have a 5.3 turbo swap that has a base tune but needs final tuning, im running a stock ecm. I've called local places / guys and theyre either booked for over a month or not returning my calls, its getting rather aggravating. I'm close to franklin park il and was wondering if any members on here are good with hp tuners and could help me out. I'm open for suggestions and willing to pay, i just want to be able to drive my car, its been sitting for 2 months waiting for replies from tuners who are obviously too busy for me..... Thx guys appreciate any help or input

I'm sure you used to suck at driving. After that you probably sucked at turbo engine swaps. For now you suck at computers. You already have the tuning tools, just learn to use them. This forum is full of people who used the available information to learn to tune their own rides. Once you start to learn the basics, you will find that a lot of so-called pros are not really doing the job right. The ones that are have such busy schedules that they would never be able to devote the time to your car that you could. Don't waste another two months waiting on somebody else to do what you are obviously capable of. The fact that you can find and articulately post questions on an internet forum proves you are capable of learning tuning.

You are absolutely correct and I appreciate the vote of confidence and kind words. It's just that I am unsure in my tuning ability and want to drive the car this summer, not to mention I don't want to blow up my engine because I did something wrong. Can anybody suggest a tuner for me? Anybody?

maybe someone has a file I could use? I looked on hp tuners and sloppy wiki, cant find my exact setup tho, so frustrating to have a car that was finished months ago and all I can do is look at it, I mean I have a base tune but that's no fun....

Your probably not going to find your exact setup for a tune. What is your setup? What cam, injectors, ect? Speed density?

I will give a plug for lsxpowertuning... They do email tunes... Basically you fill out a form with all your mods and they email you tune files back and forth as you log with hptuners. It's not the fastest process since they are doing them via email, but its not bad either. Considering they have a bunch of customers to tune and it's still race season.

If you were going to get dyno tuned, usually you could get your car dialed in, in a day... But the cost of dyno time/tuning is also expensive...

$400 gets you lifetime tunes from lsxpowertuning.

2002 5.3l, vs racing gt 45 69mm denmah kit, forward truck manifolds, ls1 intake, siemens deka 60lb, walbro 255, stock truck cam,efi source 3 bar map, speed density only no maf, aem wideband, 4l60e trans. this seems like a pretty common setup, somebody's gotta have one I'd think. oh and hp tuners on stock ecu. I looked on sloppy wiki and in hp tuners repository, close but no cigar. if I missed something just ask, thx a lot guys!

Well, damn. You officially wasted another two months NOT learning to do it for yourself.

You realize you could pay a shop with a dyno somewhere around $400 and have that thing tuned... At least around here.
