Default 2004 Corvette Injector Tuneing

I am upgrading my injectors from 28bosch to 36lb Bosch. What tuneing software can I use to do this with that is cheap. All I need is injector tuneing.

Would I even need a tune for the little jump to 36?

There is no cheap tuning software/cables for GM OBD2. But what is out there to tune GM vehicles (HP Tuners, EFI Live) considering what you can do with it I would say it is affordable. And any injector size change will require changing the calibration in the PCM. If that is really the only thing you think you need changed you might consider sending the PCM to a mail order tuner.

Installing different injectors requires more than just changing the injector flow rate table (IFR).
As the size goes up, the injector pulses at idle become shorter and injectors are not linear at short injector pulses. Therefore the injector "Short Pulse Adder" table will also be different for different injectors.
Finally, if the new injectors are different internally (coil, plunger, etc) they will have different sensitivity to changes in voltage. The "Offset versus Volts versus VAC" handles this and more.

Sure, some people only change the IFR table, but then wonder why their car idles poorly (wrong Short Adder Table) or has a hard time starting (wrong Offset versus Volts versus VAC table).

Finally switching from a 28 lb to a 36 lb injector is not a "little jump". It is a huge 28% increase; without a tune your engine will run 28% rich which will cause all kinds of problems, some serious.

I can't say if a diablo will work or not, but if your referring to one of those hand held, "self" programming ones, I wouldn't trust that. I heard they started selling a more complete tuning setup, but I don't know anything about it.

Cheapest tuning option would be mail order.

Why are you upgrading the injectors? Do you need more injector? If so, why? Did you add heads or cam to the car and you've maxed out the stock injectors? Did you get the car tuned for those extra items? If so, can you take the car back to the tuner for an update?
