Default Harness compatibility.

I have a PCM and harness from an LS4 GXP 5.3. Can I use that and make a standalone harness for a 2001 5.3 running a turbo 400 in a 1969c10

Yes you can. It does not know what vehicle its in. The early ls4 had an e40 and the later have a e67. I have pinouts if you need em. Are you planning on using the ls4 engine or just a truck 5.3L?

Find out which crank sensor you have. E40=24x, the E67=58x. Steve

Thanks Steve
I forget sometimes that not everyone knows that e40's were 24x. The guys working for me tell me all the time that I assume too much.

I assume you now know what you need for the crank sensor. Is that the count on the reluctor wheel? I would love a pin out. Can I use the ls4 computer and use something like hp tuners to disable vats and turn off no longer needed things like rear o2's and the automatic trans?

If the harness is a 2005 or 2006 then yes. You will have to change cam sensor pigtail because i believe the 01 truck engine cam sensor was still located at the rear where the ls4 is located in the front. You would also have to use the ls4 dbw assembly. If it is a 07 or newer harness then it is 58x e67 and you would be better off calling psi and buying a harness. It is possible to use the 58x harness/ecm but not plausible because of cost. If you need a pinout let me know what year harness and i'll send it to you.

Thanks for the info. I can also get a truck harness. You are correct about the cam sensor location. So it sounds like the pcm is not practical but I'm an ASE master I would imagine I can build one with pin out. It is going to be a cable driven throttle. What PCM do I need to get.

[QUOTE=ltcbm; If you need a pinout let me know what year harness and i'll send it to you.[/QUOTE]

Sir, I have a PCM from 2004 Corvette with associated tac module. I'm looking for the pin location diagram for:
1. The tac module plug (it has 16 pins)
2. The PCM (has blue and green cover where the wires attach)

If you could point me in the right direction or PM me that would be fantastic. I've combed through the conversion/hybrid section to no avail.
Thankq
