Default What ECU Should I run for my LS swap

Hey guys, been reading here for a while. I'm in the beginning process of building a 6.2L LS3 based engine. After doing all of the math it seems like the best path for me to start off with a new Chevrolet performance 6.2L aluminum block and the Chevrolet performance CNC ported LS3 heads. I'm going to put the engine in my 1965 chevelle, and plan to have a 4L60E behind it. Given that I'm starting from scratch, I have the flexibility to piece the system together. One of the big decisions I'm faced with right now is which tone wheel I want to get on the crankshaft. Can you guys help me understand what ECU would be best for me? My plans for the car are to install an aggressive camshaft, and be fuel injected.

Default MY 60-2 (58x)

There is NO option in choice, use a GM 58x (60-2) TW, the resolution is TEN times greater with same, even LOWER cost.

I would like you to fit MY Redline ECU-882C-1-H-TTL.

My "tech" support is great.

Robbie Shaw WON Stock Eliminator Division 6 using this ECU.

You could fit my "eight stack" 65mm ITB Intake Manifold ?

You say you are using a 4l60E. So you need elec trans control. That narrows down your choice of units.
Do you want Drive by wire or Drive by Cable ? That will also determine the available choices. Factory GM 24X ECU can do both DBW or DBC (I think), But GM 58X ECU can only do DBW.

The GM 24X (eg 411) ECU has performed flawlessly for thousands of hotrodders. The aftermarket ECUs tend to be more compatible with the 58X wheel tho.

That really is the big consideration.
If you plan to go with DWB (electronic throttle) then a 58x crank is the way to go. Personally I went 24x with the 411 PCM because I wanted the flexibility for different types of intake manifolds and TBs.
The newer 58x ECMs have more processing power and can provide a more precise tune. You will need a matching GM TCM to run the 4L60E.

Alternatively if your budget allows, consider the Holley Dominator - it supports 24x, 58x with both DBW and DBC and much more flexibility that the GM ECM.
The Dominator supports the 4L60E. It is definitely on my Wish list.

I haven't decided on which throttle body I will run so DBW vs. DBC will be a result of which ECU I go with. The Holley stuff looks nice, it just looks costly too!

58x and e67 ecm. You can look at the different os options. There is a lot of room to add and grow with this controller (adding boost and such). Now if you are building a super stock or stock eliminator car then big stuff or holley is the way to go.

Default Truck pcm for ls1 5.7

I have a 02’ Sierra 411 pcm and was told by a tuner he couldn’t get a tune for me. He said he try to copy the 5.7 tables from the internet but can’t gaurantee they’d be correct. Any info is appreciated. Ps. I also have a 97’ Camaro pcm and harness but was told a while back that it wouldn’t work on my swap which is why I got the 411 after all..

What you'll need is a factory LS1 tune for an automatic car. The LS1 cars came with 411 ECU's so that will not be a problem at all. Now if the engine is a 58X system and you're trying to run this in a vehicle designed for 24X then you need to get one of these. My LSX 427 is a GEN IV block with LS2 timing and valley covers, the sides of the block was drilled and tapped for knock sensors and the forged crank was a Callies Dragonslayer with a 24X reluctor ring installed. Completely a plug and play into the 01 Camaro SS with a 411 ECU.

I have a factory LS1 tune for an automatic car that I can send to you by PM
