AEM 30-1220 ECM for 98-02 F-body LS1 This AEM product has long since been discontinued, and AEM no longer provides any tech support or replacement parts for it. That said, I am asking if anyone on the forum has any experience with these units and can give me tech info for setting it up for my intended use:
I want to use this unit to control an 8.1l 8100 L18 Vortec engine. I have had a custom harness built for my specific application, for use with the 0411 ECM. The issue is that the LS1 and the L18 have different firing orders. I need to know if there is a programming function with the AEM ECM that allows for changes in firing order.. Or will I need to swap around the coil pigtails to get the firing order I need it to have?

If I were in that situation I would rig it up so the firing order is physically correct to get going. Then when you have more experience with the software you might find where you can change firing order. Maybe not if your harness is all nice-nice and you don't want to dig into it.
