Do i need to get my pcm reflashed when i replace my fuel rail? I have a ls1 in a 71 chevelle. My fuel rail has a leak by the fuel pressure connection valve. I have a few questions will I need to get the pcm reflashed ( I heard the pcm has to match the fuel rail) also are there different fuel rail pressures? Also will this fuel leak cause a high idol.

Thanks for the reply is there any difference from a stock fuel rail or a aftermarket I have a bbk intake and was just going to buy there version fuel rail to match my intake.

A fuel leak will not cause a high idle but a vacuum leak will. First check would be if a vacuum cap or hose came off. A split vacuum hose could cause it too. The fuel rail doesn't have any effect on fuel pressure, stock or aftermarket, the engine doesn't know the difference except most aftermarket rails have larger ports for more flow if you have larger injectors.

The tuning is different between a vacuum reference fuel regulator and a non vacuum referenced.
If its something like a truck intake 99 to 04 the tuning for the injector pulse is the same across the table, if it's a 2005 and up truck non vacuum referenced it compensates in the tuning on the injector pulse vs manifold vacuum table.
This would be why the tuning needs to match the fuel rail.
