Default Accel Gen7 & MSD 7AL-3 Ignition Box

I hope this isn't too stupid of a question but---would it be advisable to run an aftermarket ignition box like the one mentioned above with the Gen7, or does the Gen7 eliminate the need for one? I know the truck coils are a must, though....

Thanks!

The DFI does not enhance the spark, it only controls the timing of it. Just about all of the other features of the 7AL3 are covered by the DFI, so your only real benefit from using it would be more spark energy. However, depending on your setup, you may need one anyway since the DFI cannot be hooked to coil negative (-). It can only provide a trigger to fire the coil(s).

Interesting... Is there another, more simpler ignition box that I could use instead of the 7AL3 that would give me the same amount of spark but without all the overlapping features? Maybe save a few bucks?

Thanks for the reply!
