Angry Code P0327

I scanned my car for the heck of it today and P0327 came up. WTF!?!? I know it a knock sensor code, but what worries me is that my SES light was not on at all. I just scanned my car for the hell of it. Shouldnt the SES light come on if I throw that code?

TIA

For P0327, the SES light will only come on after the second incident.

Does it affect performance at all when it senses the first incident?

It's my understanding that if the code is thrown, the light goes on. After awhile if no further knock is picked up, the light goes out. The code however remains until cleared. If the light is not on, I wouldn't worry about it unless you just want it cleared.

If the light doesn't come on it's a "pending code." Since there's a pending code, that means that there is an issue with your KS. It could mean that your KS is working intermittantly, maybe it shorts off and on. It's just a matter of time before you will get a permanent SES light, and a drastic loss of performance (a minimum of 4* of KR). If you haven't done the GM KS TSB, now would be a good time because you will have to do it anyway.

Around how much should that TSB cost me? And is there a link where I can print it out to take it to the dealer?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Ok, so I did some more research and it seems that the TSB associated with the Knock Sensor has to do when the car pulls a code P0332. My cars code is P0327. So Im guessing its not the TSB.
